Here is Part 1 of 2 (see below for the linke to part 2) of the second of my adventures into comics lettering tutorials. This one has lots more picture examples, so I had to split it into two parts. This isn't so much a direct tutorial as an exploration of some of the theory behind different uses for lettering. For example, here we'll be talking about: creating emphasis using bold and italics, the effects of breaking up dialogue in different ways, the use of the double dash (--) and ellipsis (...), color and typography. In the first tutorial we learned what buttons to press, now we're going to talk about how to use that knowledge!
